The staff of Community Counseling Center is trained to recognize, treat and appropriately refer persons who are experiencing impairments in mental health functioning. Our mental health counselors are proficient in treating a variety of issues for individuals, families, and couples. We offer services in areas including:

GROUPS INCLUDE:
The ideal candidate for this group is someone with a history of poor judgments and decisions that have resulted in significant distress, usually legal problems unrelated to substance use. This group will assist clients with developing skills to better evaluate and forecast possible outcomes based on previous, current, and/or projected behaviors.
This group is run by a licensed mental health/substance abuse counselor and certified yoga instructor and combines western science with eastern philosophy to give clients an opportunity to learn and practice breathing exercise, meditation, and very light, beginner-friendly physical postures to address the emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual aspects of wellness and recovery. Clients will also discuss how to integrate these experiences into daily life.
The ideal candidate for this group is a client who has a history of recurrent depression, excessive worry leading to distress, anxiety not related to substance use. This group will assist individuals with developing healthy, positive, cognitive patterns and beliefs about self and the world that lead to alleviation and help prevent the recurrence of depression and anxiety related symptoms while learning skills like mindfulness, calming, and relaxation techniques to better regulate uncomfortable emotions.
The ideal candidate for this group is a client who has been victimized in a significant relationship at any point in their lives. This group will provide education/increase knowledge and understanding of trauma to reduce or eliminate its negative effects on social, occupational, and family functioning. The client will learn how to develop healthy, positive, cognitive patterns, while incorporating skills like mindfulness, calming, and relaxation techniques to reduce the likelihood of future relationship trauma.
The ideal candidate for this group is someone who has a history of impulsive acts that have caused distress, and/or has demonstrated an inability to manage negative emotions, behavioral patterns, and/or stress consistently. This group will assist individuals with understanding the causes of and learning to reduce the frequency of anger and/or impulsive behavior and increase the frequency of behavior that is carefully thought out, while learning skills like mindfulness, calming, and relaxation techniques to more effectively identify and manage negative emotions, behavioral patterns, and stress related symptoms.
